Takahama was born in Hyogo Prefecture and completed Graduate School at Musashino Art University. He says that he tries to express what he sees through his own eyes, but in his works, aptly titled in an alphabetical sequence, he reflects the persistent Japanese concern with texture and the colour grey - the most potent of colours.
