About
Along with his cast of absurd characters O’Doherty has created many self-portraits over the years, this one is strikingly candid. The artist’s stare is piercing and intense, yet vulnerable and questioning as he looks out at the viewer. This work would complement O’Doherty’s 1999 Self portrait with sink.
