Title

Blue sphere no.19

1991

Artist

OGAWA Kôichi

Japan

1950 -

About

Ogawa's concern is the continuum surrounding a sphere and the expression of the energy he believes is contained within his shapes. His soundless floating orbs pulsating through a continuum of all pervasive light become a mandala for aesthetic and spiritual experiences.

He was born in Fukuoka where he still lives, and educated at Tama University.

Jackie Menzies, Contemporary Japanese Prints: The Urban Bonsai, 1992, pg. 65.
