    The place indicated by the seal inscription, Jiushan Hupan, usually refers to Wenzhou in Zhejiang province.
    Huang Binhong (1865 - 1955) is regarded as one of the masters in Chinese traditional painting tradition. He as also an outstanding seal carver.
