About
Adriaen van Ostade spent his entire career in Haarlem where he specialized in etchings of peasant genre subjects. This is his only print that can be classified as a pure landscape. The idyllic Dutch scene is dominated by a rustic wooden bridge where two anglers pass their day peacefully, watching their bait dangle on the unruffled water.
