"These screenprints are much more refined than earlier. I was using images I picked up from various sources much more broadly – using different bits of stencil. It was quite fascinating. I used to go to libraries and flip through books of early engravings, maps, engineering diagrams etc, to see if some photographs, or some little section could be used – it didn't matter what the book was … I’d borrow it, take it back to the studio and enlarge it for my imaginary compositions."
