"This is in the same vein as Dream home – with a touch of irony. It's slightly absurd. I always enjoy that sort of absurdity – when things are meant to be fine, but they’re not. As well it's a slight dig at the dead-pan seriousness of the colour-field movement of the time. There are three straight geometric forms, regular and symmetrical, except one is being eaten at the corners as if a rat has been at it or there is some kind of flaw – purity, perfection has been eaten at, and hardly noticeable, some of it has fallen in a corner. I was reading a lot of absurdist books – Barthelme, Terry Southern, and mixing with writers like Peter Mathers."
