Title

Tent pole bag

Artists

Unknown Artist

About

This colourfully decorated textile is a good example of the bags used by nomadic peoples for storage, and to cover the ends of yurt tent poles when they were being transported to a new site. The embroidered design consists of characteristically stylised floral motifs.

Asian Art Department, AGNSW, 2008.
