  • About

Argentinian artist Adrián Villar Rojas is best known for his vast, site-specific sculptural projects that are both imposing and fragile. However, his practice also encompasses a deep interest in illustration and writing. How do symbols and words come to carry meaning? How do these meanings change over time? How do new symbols and words come into being?

From the series La fin de l'imagination (II) is part of a series of graphic works that marked the artist’s first major exploration of what he refers to as a panhuman language. This speculative vocabulary was created by the artist and his team to propose a levelling of sorts, disrupt the dominance of the English language and encouraging reflection on shared future visual languages.
