About
This painting, typical of Huen’s current mode of working, demonstrates a quiet fascination with the personal, common place occurrences of domestic space. An acute observer of his immediate surrounding, Huen captures the various ambient fixtures of is Hong Kong studio and apartment with a lightness and ease that belies the medium of oil. His three pet dogs are a recurring feature of his paintings and give this painting its title. They appear as the most unhurried subjects and are friendly reminders of the ease, calm and comfort that quotidian life can offer.
