  • About

    MARCHAND was a painter of landscapes and figures, and an illustrator and engraver. He was taught by the post-Impressionist Henri Martin and he visited Cezanne’s drawing classes. He exhibited with the Cubists in the Salon d’Automne, the Salon des Independents, and the Section d’Or. Following the presentation of Marchand’s work by Roger Fry and Clive Bell at the Grafton Galleries in London, he became associated with the Bloomsbury Group.
