    Painted in ink on ornamented paper, this page from a manuscript presents a portrait of the powerful ruler Sayyid Abdullah Khan (1666–1722). He served as governor of Allahabad and had a role in the deposition of several Mughal rulers. The image is inscribed in Nastaliq, a style of Islamic calligraphy established in Iran in the 14th century.
