  • About

    One of the many forms of Ganesha is Siddhi Vinayak. The story associated with this representation is that the god Vishnu once prayed to Ganesha, as remover of obstacles, before fighting demons. This Ganesha is called Siddhi, referring to success, because Vishnu was victorious. Siddhi Vinayak images are unique in having a trunk that turns to the right, as represented in this print. Here, Ganesha sits in a relaxed fashion attended by a woman in a setting that combines Western and Indian traditions.
