Young Members: Behind the scenes BOOKED OUT
Have you ever strolled the Grand Courts and wondered how Renaissance artworks appear so bright and full of colour? Or perhaps your inner art detective has questioned the history and construction behind a favourite work of art.
Join the Young Members as we go behind the scenes of the Art Gallery of NSW conservation department. Learn how the effects of elements such as light, temperature, relative humidity, dust, insects, vibration and vandalism can be destructive to works of art and how the Gallery conservators work to analyse, reconstruct, restore and preserve to prepare them for public display.
