The Stiff Gins

A musical response to Indigenous histories

Performing as the Stiff Gins, Nardi Simpson and Kaleena Briggs are one of the country’s most loved Indigenous female duos. Their recent research, history, arts and cultural project ‘The Spirit of Things – Sound of Objects’ explored residual and embedded stories and songs retained in Aboriginal cultural material.

Tonight they’ll give a special performance, responding to the histories of Indigenous objects held in cultural institutions and connecting with themes in the Embodiment exhibition.

This event is part of The Sydney Morning Herald Spectrum Now presented by ANZ.
