Puppy Love

Kaldor Studio: David Capra and Teena

Teena the sausage dog needs your help!

Visit the Kaldor Studio to experience the delightful new participatory artwork created by artist David Capra and his charismatic dachshund, Teena.

David & Teena take over the Kaldor Studio with their special brand of wonder and whimsy, as they proudly present Puppy Love, specially commissioned for Kaldor Public Art Projects 50th anniversary, and inspired by the perennial favourite Project 10: Jeff Koons’ Puppy (1995).

Join David & Teena as they learn more about the making of the original Puppy, write your own messages of love and happiness, and help Teena convince Mr Koons that she would make the ideal model for his next artwork! After all, who else can match her perfect pose and sleek silhouette?

David Capra and his sausage dog Teena have a long-standing history of creating socially engaged projects with learning and collaboration at the heart.

Teena is quite the publicity hound, in 2016 she appeared on the 9 Network’s Today Show to promote her own fragrance, Eau de Wet Dogge. In 2018, David and Teena performed “The long and short of it: Life lessons from art-dog Teena” to an audience of 5000 at TEDx Sydney. Most recently, David and Teena collaborated with Kaldor Public Art Projects, producing a series of “Teena Takes on…” educational videos unpacking the Kaldor archive.

This event is presented by Kaldor Public Art Projects in partnership with the Art Gallery of NSW.
