Masters of modern sound

An after-dark experience in art, space and sound unlike anything you’ve seen or heard before

Journey through the Art Gallery of New South Wales and encounter leading Australian and international composers, musicians, sound designers, and performers from celebrated dance theatre company Force Majeure.

Experience commissioned sound design from long-time David Lynch collaborator Dean Hurley (Twin Peaks: the return). Encounter the ambient music of William Basinski and Lawrence English with an Australian-exclusive live performance of Selva Oscura.

Witness original movement and interventions created by Force Majeure’s Danielle Micich. Discover the experimental electronic music of Italian minimalist Caterina Barbieri and Western Sydney maximalist Del Lumanta. Pause amid art and absorb the meditative sounds of Chris Abrahams (The Necks).

Step into the blockbuster exhibition Masters of modern art from the Hermitage for a live performance of newly commissioned work by Corin Ileto, Becky Sui Zhen and Casey Hartnett inspired by Kandinsky, Picasso and Matisse.
