Year of the Pig
Kids Club kicks off the New Year by celebrating The Chinese Year of the Pig. Let’s generate some good luck vibes and make a fun clay sculpture of a cute and chubby pig
We will create a happy colourful collage inspired by modernist art. Design your composition using geometric shapes and lines, coloured and patterned paper.
My favourite things
We will paint a fun and personal still life. Do you have a favourite toy, food or object? Bring it to the class and we’ll share our favourite things as the subjects of our special still life.
Create a picture story book. We’ll invent some fun tales about people and places we see in artworks around the Gallery and illustrate our book.
What’s your favourite song? Do you like singing? We’ll look closely at musical instruments and invent a fun and musical artwork.
Strike a pose
Strike a pose in front of the mirror. How many different poses can you do? Wear your favourite outfit or come in disguise. We’ll create a sequence of fun self portraits.
Spots, stripes, fur or feathers. Looking at lots of animals we will have fun exploring their different forms and textures, then make our own amazing animal using pen and collage.
It’s spring and we’ll look at the colours of nature, the shapes of flower petals and create an arrangement of flowers and interesting plants. Let’s include some insects too.
We built this city
We will build a mini city using cardboard and recycled materials. What kind of buildings will you include? Who will live in your town?
Let’s have fun making masks. Draw patterns, add colours, shapes and feathers. We’ll look for inspiration amongst the works in the gallery.
Enjoy some fun making pattern on paper and create a suite of cards and fun wrapping paper to use during the festive season.
