Walking tour: the edge of memory

Join Waanyi artist Judy Watson

Beginning at the Gallery with morning tea and an introduction to the exhibition Judy Watson: the edge of memory, this tour, led by the artist herself, will then visit sites of Watson’s significant public art projects in Sydney.

Walking through the Royal Botanic Gardens, we will visit the proposed site of Watson’s commission as part of the City of Sydney’s Eora Journey project. Titled bara for the fish hook made by Gadigal women for millennia, a pair of six-metre high carved stone sculptures will overlook the harbour from Dubbagullee (Bennelong Point). We’ll also visit ngarunga nangama: calm water dream 2016 which engages with the history of the Tank Stream, particularly its Aboriginal history.
