Indian dance and creative movement workshop

Celebrate the Festival of Light with classical dance en masse

Unleash your creativity and freedom of expression through dance, music and storytelling.

Hailing from Chennai, India, Western Sydney-based dancer Aruna Gandhi is a specialist in the Southern Indian classical dance style of Bharatanatyam, having trained under the legendary artiste and guru Professor Sudharani Raghupathy.

Bharatanatyam is a traditional dance form that weaves rhythm, hand gestures, facial expressions, movements and music as a form of expressive storytelling.

For Diwali (also known as Deepavali), the Festival of Lights, join Aruna for a performance that will highlight the significance of lighting a lamp then participate in a creative movement dance workshop that draws inspiration from Bharatanatyam.
