Drawing was everything for Brett Whiteley, one of Australia’s most treasured artists. Get up close with Whiteley’s expressive drawings in this series of talks, investigating the central place of drawing in his studio practice, his methods and techniques and the inspiration young artists find in his drawings today.

Artists Lucy O’Doherty and Tom Polo were the recipient of the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship in 2016 and 2015 respectively. Hear them talk about their favourite drawings in the show, the legacy of Brett Whiteley for young artists and the impact of the scholarship.
