Learn about La Per shellwork

Shells have been used by coastal Aboriginal communities for countless generations for tools and jewellery. The women artists of Sydney’s La Perouse community use them to create contemporary artworks, often using family designs.

As part of Corroboree Sydney 2014, Kamilaroi/Wiradjuri artist Jonathan Jones will discuss 'La Per’ shellwork and provide an insight into the complex knowledge that allows these works to be created.
