On the film 'Vincent: The Life and Death of Vincent van Gogh'
Join us for a conversation with actor and producer Tony Llewellyn-Jones as he discusses the Paul Cox feature film Vincent: The Life and Death of Vincent van Gogh
Long-time associate of director Paul Cox (who died in 2016), Tony will share how the film came to be made, the hurdles needed to be overcome in the making, and the resulting public work created.
Paul Cox was a great Australian film maker of Dutch heritage, and as a fellow Dutchman Vincent was very close to Paul’s heart, and he was very proud of his contribution in telling this extraordinary artist’s life through the letters Vincent wrote to his brother Theo (read by John Hurt). The American film critic Vincent Canby’s assessment of the film was “…the most profound exploration of an artist’s soul ever to be put on film”.
Tony worked closely with Paul to realise this superb film.
