Bus tour: Manly Art Gallery BOOKED OUT
View 'Belle Île: Euan Macleod and Luke Sciberras'
After several years spent in the art circles of Montparnasse, John Russell and his Italian wife Marianna Mattiocco retreated to the island of Belle Île off the coast of Brittany, where he would realise some of his best paintings in the island’s dramatic coastlines and rough seas. Last year, artists and friends Euan Macleod and Luke Sciberras travelled to Belle Île together to pay homage to Russell and look anew at the landscape that the Australian-expat captured so vividly.
This exclusive tour brings together the work of these three Antipodean artists. Begin the day at the Art Gallery of NSW with a guided tour of John Russell: Australia’s French impressionist before travelling by bus to Manly Art Gallery and Museum where Euan Macleod will be there to talk about the experience of making the works in their joint exhibition Belle Île: Euan Macleod and Luke Sciberras.
Includes light lunch at Manly Art Gallery and Museum.
