Biennale archive stories

A weekend of talks by former Biennale of Sydney artistic directors

Join us as we revisit two decades of Biennale with former artistic directors. On Saturday 24 March, Dr Lynne Cooke and Jonathan Watkins will speak about their experiences directing the 1996 and 1998 editions respectively. On Sunday 25 March, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and David Elliott speak about their 2008 and 2010 editions in the context of their careers. As part of the Biennale Archive Stories series, these talks will be windows to past and current exhibition-making practices and a changing Sydney.

Coffee and tea will be served between lectures, with a Q&A to follow both speakers’ presentations.

Presented with assistance from the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Centre for Visual Arts, University of Melbourne.
