Ben Hauptmann Jazz Combo

Ben Hauptmann is a nationally recognised jazz guitarist, who has shared the stage with a diverse range of artists such as Joss Stone, Katie Noonan, Lior and James Morrison. He has performed extensively internationally and at major Australian music festivals including Homebake, Woodford Folk Festival and Splendour in the Grass. Tonight Ben is joined by James Hauptmann and Brendan Clarke.

Close to Forever

Georgia Mooney

Georgia Mooney delights lovers of thoughtful storytelling and delicate folk songs. With influences including Joni Mitchell and Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Georgia’s melding of folk and pop captivates audiences across the country. Recently she performed on two national tours with UK artist Passenger. Georgia is a refreshingly different songwriter writing in a way that is unpredictable, intimate and whole-hearted.

Baz’s Trio of Jazz is lead by guitarist Aaron 'Baz’ Flower, former winner of the National Jazz Guitar Award. Playing jazz classics from the early part of last century, their music is filmic and uplifting.

Geoff Bull and The Finer Cuts

A great new band featuring the legendary Geoff Bull on trumpet alongside some of Sydney’s finest young jazz players. Playing traditional New Orleans style jazz, the group is keeping this tradition alive while also giving it a breath of fresh air. Geoff and The Finer Cuts draw from a huge palette of traditional tunes and also play many original compositions.

The Cope Street Parade

With their fiery and fun music, The Cope Street Parade cast a spell of dance halls and speakeasies with the hot sounds of New Orleans melding with gypsy. The Sydney group, featuring Justin Fermino, Aaron Flower, Ben Panucci and Grant Arthur, play original music with a touch of the old and a glimpse of the new. They have performed at major music festivals across Australia and their second album is due out in November 2013.

The Morrisons

The Morrisons are a five-piece string band playing bluegrass, country and honky-tonk. They perform lonesome songs of lost loves and foot-stomping affairs of bullets and whiskey. Fronted by the sweet country voice of James Morrison, the band hosts some of Sydney’s best string players – Jimmy Daley (mandolin), Miles Fraser (guitar), Elsen Price (bass) and Zane Banks (banjo). Since forming in late 2012, The Morrisons have built a loyal crowd following at their regular Sydney shows and are currently recording their first album.
