Year of the Pig
Art Club kicks off the New Year by celebrating The Chinese Year of the Pig. Let’s generate some good luck vibes and make a fun clay sculpture of a cute and chubby pig.
Still-life Ink painting
You will learn how to make your own ink by grinding an ink stick on stone, then create a still life painting exploring the various qualities of ink.
Drawing in Charcoal and mixed media
We will make drawings of Australian natives using a combination of charcoal and paint on brown paper and newsprint.
Studying the painting style of Grace Cossington Smith, we will make a colourful still life painting emulating her style and on wooden panels
With inspiration from Indian miniatures we will design our own dry point etching to print.
With a combination of drawing and collage we will make a portrait of someone special, or a fun self portrait.
Let’s look closely at the wise owl and create a detailed portrait of this beautiful bird using coloured pencils.
Decorative wall hanging
This month we will learn simple weaving techniques to create a colourful and fun wall hanging. Inspired by the colour wheel.
Using chalk pastel we will make a progressive sequence of sketches of apples being slowly eaten. Have fun munching on an apple while you draw.
Create a design inspired by the shapes and textures of feathers. Transfer your drawing to scratch foam and we will make a print on a tote bag.
We will make a festive decorative paper sculpture using origami techniques. Add your origami to the Christmas tree. A great activity to share with family.
