Together In Art

Home. How are you feeling about it?

Dying to get out, after weeks of isolation? Or enjoying the slowness and solace? We kick off this week on Together In Art with Howard Arkley’s ‘Triple fronted’ 1987, a painting that intensifies the popular image of home even as it atomises it, renders it weightless. Across the coming week, we’ll be looking at domestic space and the way artists have portrayed it, and thinking about the way the outside has come in during the pandemic – whether through our screens or our windows. At the heart of the week’s offerings is a new exhibition created especially for Together In Art with nine contemporary Australian artists, who have observed the world from their windows and returned with works that are poetic, gently hopeful and, above all, intimate. We can’t wait to show you. Come on in.
