This Despairing Land explores and highlights the harsh conditions and despairing times that we faced in the drought and the bushfires. They consumed our lives for many months. I live on a farm in the Southern Monaro, so I was working and living among the dust and smoke. We were feeding the animals every day. I used my camera to document the images and moods of the drought and bushfires in the summer of 2019/2020. The amazing hues of brown, grey and orange became part of our daily life.
