Charles Newton-John FEEL

My body of work explores the deeply felt unpredictability of COVID-19. Themes emerged while I was directing the film, representing the fluid situation in our external and mediated worlds. My intent became to express and record the duality of accepting and submitting to the demise of our society as we knew it, while also fighting this demise. I contrast the vibrance and chaos of everyday life with the enforced downtime of this period. An awakening is felt, and a rebellion grows against the lockdown, needing to feel and act on one’s own volition. To ‘feel’ is necessary in this climate.
