My body of work represents the effects of air pollution onto the globe, referencing aerial shots of smog. Human activity has caused harmful substances to be released into the air which then ironically, affects back onto not just humans but also animals and the environment. Yet as the mist will eventually go away, it also symbolises the uncovering of my cultural background. As the individual is on the journey to growing up, who they are, will become clearer. I used the westernised medium of oil paint and charcoal blended with water to form the effect of a traditional Chinese ink painting.
