Yue Lin Wu Where the horizon lies
My body of work uses three series of colours – blue, red and black – to represent water, sky and land. My work consists of 64 individual ceramic vessels and wave-shaped pieces. I have used the traditional Japanese method of ‘nerikomi’ where the clay is pigmented with coloured oxides which are then folded through natural, white porcelain. This expresses the notion of a horizon, created by a vast collection of verticals, as found in the natural landscape.
