Andrew Lee Ballistic - when colours collide
My body of work is a fusion of my scientific interests and my artistic style, represented in photographs depicting the highly organic nature of the collision of water droplets. To create the photographs I researched the physics of fluid dynamics, then explored and experimented with the studio setup as well as the intricacies of drop timing and placement. I used high-speed strobes to capture the drops with a high degree of precision, yet every photograph is different due to the highly dynamic motion of the water. Photography, to me, is the perfect amalgamation of science and creativity and in this work I endeavour to fuse its art and science.
