In my body of work I have taken inspiration from the traditional Korean Onggi style of pottery, placing it in a modern context. I wanted to experiment with this traditional style using contemporary glazing and firing techniques. I explored the diversity of the ceramic medium within each piece through a range of complementary and contrasting forms paired with different glazes. This allowed me to demonstrate a greater depth of technique and my own understanding of ceramics, Korean historical form, and the way different glazes can work with such forms.
