In Father, uncle, son I communicate the complexities of memory in a sculptural form. It presents the masculine cornerstones of growing up as a boy, my childhood moulded by books on building tree houses and wooden toys in place of a digital environment. Fleeting glances of relatives, events and dreams become a blur. I’ve made use of tools and construction materials for this expression of my childhood, and the materials that constructed a family home are revived through bricolage. In the natural forms produced through these materials and tools of precision, the organic distortion of memories is recreated.
