Join us for a night of firsts – the first of our monthly photography talks in association with Max Dupain: the Paris ‘private’ series and other pictures, the beginning of our Papua New Guinea stories film series, and the first of our exhibition talks and celebrity talks in association with Plumes and pearlshells: art of the New Guinea highlands. Australian film director Bob Connolly will discuss his time in Papua New Guinea where he filmed the award-winning documentaries known as the Highlands trilogy. And in a very special event after his conversation with Margaret Throsby, Bob will introduce our screening of the first film in the trilogy, First contact.
