Celebrating both the centenaries of the construction of the original Art Gallery of New South Wales building and of Federation in Australia, the Centenary Fund was established in 2001 specifically to raise money for capital works at the Gallery.
Its first project was to build a new auditorium. The new auditorium is a critical facility for the Gallery to fulfil its role as a forum for ideas, discussion and education.
