Since then, the Photography Collection has acquired more than 150 new works and the Program has grown to offer a vigorous range of exhibitions, private previews and special events for its members. The major part of the Photography Collection is Australian, ranging from pictorialists such as John Kauffmann, Cecil Bostock and Harold Cazneaux, through to those involved in the modernist and documentary movements of the 20th Century, such as Max Dupain, Olive Cotton and David Moore. There is extensive representation of contemporary artists working in photography, such as Rosemary Laing, Bill Henson, Tracey Moffatt and Patricia Piccinini. In addition to the Australian collection, the Gallery has works from the USA and Europe, including important photographers such as Nan Goldin, Adam Fuss, Moholy-Nagy, El Lissitzky, Hans Bellmer and Werner Mantz. There are three main levels of Benefactor support: - become an individual or corporate benefactor
- sponsor a table or attend the annual fundraising dinner
- become a special event sponsor.
Photography is a medium where it is still possible to build an internationally significant collection, as major works by international and Australian artists are available and can be secured at prices that remain within reach.
