The Art Gallery of New South Wales is committed to exhibiting and collecting the most interesting and innovative contemporary Australian art.

The Gallery places special emphasis on the artistic traditions of Australia, so it must continue to build a challenging contemporary Australian art collection.

The Gallery receives no government funding for acquisitions, so private philanthropy and benefaction is essential to develop its collections. The Contemporary Collection Benefactors (CCB) program raises funds to acquire contemporary Australian art for the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
