VisAsia’s mission is to promote the appreciation of Asian visual arts and culture through exhibitions, events and education.

VisAsia, the Australian Institute of Asian Culture and Visual Arts, was established in 1999 in recognition of Australia’s growing involvement with the cultures of Asia. Managed by a board of directors, it includes both the VisAsia Council and individual VisAsia membership.

There are two kinds of VisAsia membership for individual donors.

VisAsia members pledge a minimum annual donation of $1500 for four years. In appreciation, your name is listed on the Gallery’s honour board and you are invited to private viewings of major exhibitions where you’ll be addressed by a relevant specialist. VisAsia members are also invited to view some of Sydney’s best private Asian collections and are sent complimentary issues of the TAASA Review: the Journal of the Asian Arts Society of Australia.

VisAsia Lotus members pledge an annual donation of $2000 for five years. You’re invited to all Asian events at the Gallery and your name is listed on the stylised lotus flowers at the entrance to the upper Asian gallery.
