Seated figure of Shiva Central Vietnam (Champa) 800s–900s Champa was one of the earliest Indianised cultures in Southeast Asia. The Chams adopted Shiva as the founder, protector and patron deity of their kingdom. Shiva is depicted as a powerful god in a stately yet relaxed pose, seated on a pedestal with his vehicle, the bull Nandi in front.
