ABSTRACT

What can I say?

This presentation is a rumination on the parameters of expression allowed a newspaper art critic. A daily metropolitan newspaper is a highly visible forum but what can be said within those column inches? How do newspapers compare with journals and magazines? What do the editors want and the sub-editors allow? This paper reveals one art critic’s attempts to make constructive commentary within the constraints of main stream publishing.
