Cassidy Mason Shirley

Shirley is a friend of my grandma’s whom I met one holiday at a lunch. All my grandma’s friends were gathered around a 12-seated table at a tennis club where they love to socialise and catch up. Being the only 16-year-old there, I surprisingly got along with them. It was nice to talk to a different generation and escape the world of teenagers. Shirley used to be an art teacher of my grandma’s, and she inspired me to create more art. I’ve always wanted to draw a detailed portrait in pencil, and this was a challenge for me. I feel like I captured her wisdom and spirit.
