Lee Whitmore Here’s one of me

In this self-portrait, Lee Whitmore depicts herself during a visit to Surrey, England in 1977 with her husband. ‘I am standing in the driveway to the house we were visiting. I have just collected a letter from the post box from my mother in Sydney,’ said the artist.

Born in Sydney in 1947, Whitmore studied art under her father, the illustrator Frank Whitmore. This was her first entry in the Archibald Prize.
