WIN A TRIP TO LONDON

The travel draw is an annual fundraising campaign organised for members. It is an occasion to honour members’ commitment to the Gallery but, above all, a way to help put art on the walls.

When it comes to acquiring artworks for the collection, unbeknownst to many, the Gallery receives no support in the way of funding from state or federal government. The acquisition program is solely dependent on the generosity of individuals whether as members of the Society’s Collection Circle donation program or the Gallery's Foundation.

We hope you find the suite of Travel Draw 2009 luxury prizes, worth more than $65 000, attractive. Please treat yourself, friends and family to as many draw tickets as you can manage. Our promise to you – ensuring every dollar raised from each ticket purchased goes towards helping the Gallery purchase works for the collection.

Become the subject of an artwork when you have your portrait drawn by celebrated artist Mathew Lynn. Known through his entries in the Archibald Prize, held annually at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, many of Lynn’s entries have been finalists in the prize.

Other Archibald prize finalist portraits by Lynn include actress Anna Volska (2002), artist Wendy Sharpe (2005) and ex-Premier Neville Wran (2007).

Mathew lives and works in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. He is primarily known as a portrait painter in oils, working on public and private commissions in Australia and the UK. In addition to portraits, he paints landscapes which focus on transitory mood and atmosphere, inspired by where he lives and places visited on his travels in Australia and abroad.
