Pinchgut has become well known for its discovery of rarely performed works. This year's offering from the early Italian Baroque period, L'Ormindo, is another gem. First performed in Venice in 1644 and written by the most famous opera composer of his time (and Monteverdi's protégé), Francesco Cavalli, L'Ormindo is full of sublime melodies, harmonic invention – and delicious humour!
