These studies aim to capture the softness and serenity of Paris. Through an impressionistic style, traditional earthy colours and broken, quivering strokes, I attempt to chase the light and shadows of fleeting airy spaces on a Parisian afternoon. Walking through Paris, the realisation crystallised that the mise-en-scène is indelibly impressionistic. Sitting in cafes absorbing its ambiance, amid life’s bustle, evokes the desire to reflect on the world passing by: on what makes people move and act as they do, on evanescent colours and the behaviours of contemporary life, and on the movement of light within the spaces.
