My work is based on the memories, emotions and journeys taken during and after the war in the former Yugoslavia. I have captured the concept of 'a light at the end of the tunnel’ – light the metaphor for Australia. Each bottle represents a family, and contains a small diary entry expressing their outlook on the war and the new opportunities that lay ahead in Australia. Some bottles remain empty, representing the families who did not have the opportunity to leave their country and find a 'new life’.
