My work explores isolation and dislocation by removing children from stereotypical family environments of love, warmth and comfort. Juxtaposition creates a visual narrative where the children are blank and lost in a daydream. Eerie, stark landscapes and interiors create a sense of nostalgia and lead the audience to question why the child is there and alone. The children are awkward, distant and unengaged, yet beautiful and fascinating creating a metaphor which links to childhood.
