Odyssey questions the concept of post-production enhancement in photography. The 42 black-and-white photographs, taken in Europe, USA and Hong Kong, feature ordinary subjects depicted in a visually engaging manner. Each one has been individually produced through scrupulous darkroom technique and illustrates the originality that black-and-white photography represents.
Odyssey explores the effects of light, form, composition and scale, and the atmosphere that these create in a photograph. By using sharp contrast and basic subject matter, I challenge the audience to appreciate the simplicity of black-and-white photography.
